| Fallbrook Loses Out to Charlotte Catholic |
| School Age - Boys |
|
Fallbrook narrowly lost to Charlotte Catholic in the second quarterfinal of the Boy's High School National Championships. The final score was 10-7. Fallbrook coach Mike Majewski said that it was a very good match. "Our forwards controlled most of the game," he added. "We just ran out of time." Fallbrook was up 7-5 at halftime and could have scored again, but they knocked the ball on going into the try zone and conceded the penalty. In the second half, Charlotte Catholic stepped it up and scored a try despite the outstanding Fallbrook defense. "I wish we could've spun the ball out more," Majewski said. "I have pride in the boys and how physical they played. Our first-up defense was fantastic, but [Charlotte Catholic] were very big and very physical. They played better rugby than we did today." "Within 15 minutes after the match they were OK with it," he added. "They rebounded pretty quick. We went in thinking we had a shot at this whole thing." Charlotte Catholic earned the right to face Xavier in the semifinal round later today. |
