Utah United Sneaks by Naples Bears
School Age - Boys

Utah United just managed to beat the Naples Bears in the final quarterfinal of the Boy's U19 National Championships, with the game coming down to a last-minute penalty attempt by Naples.

In the last minute of a low-scoring match, United was able to take the lead with a converted penalty kick. "It was one of the few penalties that came for us," United coach Colin Puriri said. But on the ensuing kick off, United turned the ball over by committing a penalty, setting up Naples' last-ditch shot at goal. The kick missed, giving United the win.

The close score was partially due to the amount of penalties United had.

"Naples came very close to coming back," Puriri said. "The penalty count was pretty heavy against us... It wasn't our best game and we were very lucky to squeeze by, but we'll play better the rest of the tournament."
