The San Diego Youth Rugby Club Mustangs won their first Southern California U19 Championship Saturday, defeating Back Bay 17-12. The win caps off an undefeated league season for the Mustangs.

The SoCal champs will now travel north to Sacramento Saturday May to take on defending National Champion and recent Northern California champion Jesuit High School.

“The showdown this weekend will definitely provide some high speed, athletic rugby between two top sides,” said Mustangs coach Ramon Samaniego. “Pride and bragging rights of California are at stake.”
