Undefeated Triad and Tigers from North Carolina headline the quarterfinals in that state. In SoCal, it’s the semifinals. Back Bay defeated Santa Monica 45-9 last weekend, while the Mustangs were clear winners of ICEF 46-28. Oceanside beat South Bay 21-7, and SOC Gators edged the LA Cougars 21-12. Those four will face off this weekend.
In Colorado playoffs also begin, with the Boys DI playoffs down to three teams – East HS, Colorado Springs, and Cherry Creek – who are tied at 6-1. Following their tour of Ireland Xavier battled Hale School of Australia well, until jet lag and their hectic schedule caught up with them. "The guys are pumped up about playing Xavier," Greenwich assistant coach John Porter told the local press. "They beat McQuaid 17-14, so we feel we have a shot this year. Everything is coming together for us at the right time." In Eastern Penn, St. Gregory’s won the matchup of undefeated teams as they downed St. Joe’s 11-5 last weekend. Some exciting games this weekend include 2-0 Downingtown v. 3-2 Malvern Prep, and 7-0 West Shore United against 6-0 Cumberland Valley. Salesnium, 4-0, faces 2-1 Unionville, In Western Pa., Burrell still rules in the single-school category. They took care of Fox Chapel 59-0 and face Central Catholic next week.
