Hale scrumhalf Kylan Yoxall led all scorers with 18 points from two tries and four conversions. It was Hale’s third straight victory on its US tour, earlier wins coming against a Southern California All Star selection in Santa Monica on April 7th and Gonzaga HS in Washington, DC on April 10th. After missing a long penalty attempt in the second minute, Hale got on the board in the 14th when scrumhalf Kylan Yoxall ran 25 meters for an unconverted try, 5-0. Fullback Rob Ingram extended Hale’s lead to 10-0 when he touched down in the 17th minute. Xavier responded two minutes later with a corner try, the first of two, by wing Charles Guiraud, 10-5. An intercept try from close-in by Xavier flanker Robert Irimescu leveled the scores (10-10) in the 34th minute and spectators anticipated a battle royal in the second half. The battle royal, unfortunately, never took place as Hale overwhelmed Xavier after the turn-around by a count of 38-5. Hale’s scoring barrage started with a corner try by outside center Josh Pervan in the 3rd minute. Hale fullback Rob Ingram scored his second try with a 35 meter run by in the 9th. Both were converted by Kylan Yoxall, 24-10. Xavier struck back in the 18th minute when wing Charles Guirard went 80 meters for his second try (24-15), but that would be the host’s last score of the day. Hale extended its lead to 29-15 in the 22nd minute when Kylan Yoxall scored his second try at the conclusion of a multi-phase attack. Hale center Josh Pervan’s second try in the 25th minute and Yoxall’s conversion pushed Hale’s lead to 36-15. Hale tries by wing Craig Law in the 30th and Alex Tsankis in the 33rd, the first converted by Yoxall, brought the final tally to Hale 48, Xavier 15.
