The Boys High School Rugby National Championship will be held on May 15-17, 2014 at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Ind.
The Boys High School Rugby National Championships will fill the gap in elite high school rugby competition left by the discontinuation of the High School National Championship, and the Boys High School Rugby National Championship expects to attract the top high school teams in the nation to this premier event.
The tournament will include separate competitions for boys’ single high school teams and multiple high school club teams. The competition will consist of three 60-minute matches over the course of three days – beginning on Thursday afternoon, May 15th and concluding on Saturday, May 17th.
Teams interested in competing in the tournament are invited to submit an application to the tournament committee. The applications will be available by early January and the deadline for applications will be February 1.
After a thorough selection process based on teams’ applications, the twelve most qualified teams (in each of the two separate competitions: single-school and high school club) will be sent invitations by February 15. In mid-May, the 24 teams will be seeded based on each team’s performance throughout the spring 2014 season. The eight top-seeded teams in each category will play in two separate competitions for the Single High School and High School Club Championships.
The four lowest seeded teams in each category will play in a single competition for the Combined Cup.
Please note that the Boys High School Rugby National Championship will not be planned, organized, or run by USA Rugby, and USA Rugby will no longer name an official National High School Champion.
