Former Cal Captain Derek Asbun, who had been playing with Rosslyn Park and Wasps A in England, will be joining University of Cape Town in South Africa.

Asbun confirmed the move with RUGBYMag and said he is just trying to get a good level of rugby and some playing time. UCT plays both club and university opponents in South Africa.

Asbun, who played loose forward at Cal, but played a little hooker when the situation called for it, played both positions for Oxford University before converted to hooker with the USA team. He received his first cap this past June.

Meanwhile former Loyola Marymount All American Zach Fenoglio, who had been captaining the Glendale Raptors in Colorado, will be joining the Canterbury Academy's International High Performance for the next few months. He will also be playing club rugby there.

He told RUGBYMag that he has a year-long visa, but will likely return in April, which would be in time for some key matches for the Raptors.

"Hopefully something works its way into having me come back [to New Zealand], though," he said.

Fenoglio played for the USA Selects in the ARC and received his first cap for the USA during the team's November test matches.
